Continued use of the Service after any changes indicates your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
Please note that the Service may occasionally contain unintentional errors or inaccuracies. Versatails will make reasonable efforts to correct these as needed, at its sole discretion. While we regularly update and improve the content provided through the Service, some inaccuracies may occur during or between updates. Versatails does not accept any responsibility or liability for such errors.
We also make reasonable efforts to keep the Service free of viruses, but we cannot guarantee complete protection. Users are responsible for taking appropriate precautions—such as using antivirus software—before downloading any content from the Service.
2. OUR SERVICE
Versatails operates an online store offering premium products for dogs, including our flagship orthopedic dog beds. The store is hosted by Shopify Inc., which provides the e-commerce platform we use to operate our website and process transactions. Your Personal Information may be stored and processed through Shopify’s data storage, databases, and related applications. For more information about how Shopify handles your Personal Information, please review Shopify’s Privacy Policy at: https://www.shopify.com/legal/privacy.
3. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
Information You Provide
When you access or use the Service, Versatails may collect certain types of personal information (“Personal Information”) directly from you or based on your interactions with the Service. This may include:
● Contact and Identification Information: Such as your full name, phone number, email address, shipping address, and any other information you may be asked to provide when registering for or using the Service.
● Order and Payment Information: When you place an order, we collect information necessary to fulfill your purchase, including your name, shipping and billing addresses, phone number, and email address. Payment details are processed securely by third-party payment providers. Available payment methods—such as Shopify Payments, Google Pay, Apple Pay, or PayPal—may vary and are subject to change at our discretion. We do not store your payment card information on our servers.
● Voluntary Information: Information you choose to provide, such as details about your pet, product preferences, or feedback. This may include responses to emails, support inquiries, or form submissions on the Website or during checkout.
● Usage and Transaction Data: Details about your interactions with the Service, such as pages viewed, purchases made, and transactions completed. This may also include communications with Versatails and related metadata (e.g., timestamps, communication method, geolocation), as well as survey or promotion responses.
● Other Information: Any additional personal data you submit through the Service.
Note: If you provide personal information about another individual (e.g., gift recipients), you must ensure you have their consent to share that information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
Information Automatically Collected
In addition to the Personal Information you provide directly, Versatails may automatically collect certain technical and usage-related data when you interact with the Service (“Usage Data”). This information helps us operate, secure, and improve the Service and your experience. Usage Data may include:
● Device Information: We may collect details about your device and its connection, such as your IP address, browser type, operating system, approximate geolocation, and unique device identifiers (e.g., UDID or MAC address).
● Cookies and Similar Technologies: Like many websites, we use cookies and similar tracking technologies to enhance functionality, personalize your experience, and analyze how users interact with our Service. Cookies are small text files stored on your device that help us recognize your browser over time. We may also use web beacons, pixels, or other technologies to collect information such as your IP address, the referring website, pages visited, browser characteristics, and whether you opened or interacted with emails sent by Versatails.
We and our partners use cookies and similar technologies to operate our website, measure performance, personalize your experience, and deliver targeted advertising. These fall into the following categories:
o Strictly Necessary Cookies (e.g., session management, checkout, fraud prevention).
o Performance and Analytics Cookies (e.g., measuring traffic, usage trends, and site performance via Shopify and Google Analytics).
o Marketing and Advertising Cookies (e.g., Meta, Google, Klaviyo, and other platforms used for retargeting and campaign measurement).
o Preference Cookies (e.g., remembering your language or location).
You can control or disable cookies by adjusting your browser settings. Please note that disabling cookies may affect your ability to use certain features of the Service. For more information, you can review cookie settings instructions for major browsers:
● Safari
By continuing to use the Service, you consent to our use of cookies as described in this Privacy Policy.
● Browser Signals and Global Privacy Control (GPC): Some browsers may send “Do Not Track” (DNT) signals to websites. At this time, we do not respond to DNT signals or similar legacy mechanisms. However, we do recognize and honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals, which are browser or extension-based settings indicating a user’s intent to opt out of the sale or sharing of Personal Information. When we detect a valid GPC signal, we treat it as a legally binding opt-out request in accordance with applicable privacy laws, including the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA).
● Ancillary Technical Data: We may collect additional technical and diagnostic data related to your use of the Service, including system configuration, usage patterns, login history, clickstream data, session metadata, application performance metrics, bug or crash reports, and system diagnostics. This may include IP address, username, device host name, and the general location at the time of the issue.
● Google Analytics 4 (GA4). Our Service may use GA4, or similar tools, which may collect additional information when enhanced features are enabled. In particular:
o Google Signals allows us to receive aggregated insights based on signed-in Google users who have turned on Ads Personalization, including demographic data, interests, and cross-device activity.
o User-ID enables us to associate sessions from different devices and browsers with a single pseudonymous identifier.
o User-provided data may be used for Enhanced Conversions, meaning that information you provide (such as email address or phone number) can be securely matched against Google accounts to improve the accuracy of conversion measurement.
o Granular location and device data may be collected, including general geographic region, browser, and device characteristics.
GA4 retains event-level data for a limited period (generally, no more than 24 months). For more information on how Google collects and processes data, please see: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
● Google Tag Manager (“GTM”). We may also use GTM to implement and manage analytics or marketing tags. GTM itself does not collect personal information; however, it facilitates the deployment of third-party tags, which may collect data in accordance with your consent preferences.
● Microsoft Clarity. We use Microsoft Clarity, an analytics tool provided by Microsoft, to help us understand how visitors interact with our Website. Clarity uses cookies and similar technologies to record anonymized sessions and generate heatmaps that visualize user behavior. Clarity may capture mouse movements, clicks, scrolling, and page interactions. This information helps us analyze usage patterns and improve the design and functionality of our Website. Clarity does not collect information that can directly identify individual users, and sensitive data fields (such as payment or contact information) are automatically masked to protect your privacy. Data collected through Clarity may be shared with Microsoft and processed in accordance with Microsoft Clarity’s Privacy Statement.
Together, the Personal Information and Usage Data described in this Privacy Policy are referred to collectively as the “Information.”

General
● For Other Internal or Business Purposes: We may use Personal Information for any other internal or commercial purpose reasonably aligned with your expectations based on your relationship with Versatails, or as otherwise permitted by applicable law. This may include developing new products or services, improving our marketing strategies, or analyzing trends in customer behavior.
5. BEHAVIORAL ADVERTISING AND INTEREST-BASED MARKETING
As mentioned, we may use the information we collect—including device data, browsing history, interactions with our website, and purchase behavior—to serve you advertising that is tailored to your interests. This practice is known as interest-based or behavioral advertising, and it helps us improve the relevance and effectiveness of the ads you see both on our site and across the internet.
To do this, we work with third-party advertising platforms (such as Google, Meta, Microsoft Advertising, Taboola, Outbrain, TikTok, and others) that use cookies, pixels, tags, or similar technologies to track your activity over time and across websites. These tools allow us to: (i) retarget you with ads after you’ve visited our site; (ii) build lookalike audiences to find new customers with similar interests; (iii) conduct cross-device tracking so that ads are coordinated across your phone, tablet, and computer; (iv) optimize our ad delivery based on what performs best for different audience segments.
To learn more about how interest-based advertising works, visit the Network Advertising Initiative’s educational page: https://thenai.org/about-online-advertising/.
You can opt out of targeted advertising by adjusting your preferences directly. For more information see https://optout.aboutads.info/?c=2&lang=EN. Please note that opting out does not eliminate all advertising—rather, it means that the ads you see may be less relevant to your preferences or online behavior.
6. YOUR CHOICES: OPTING OUT OF COMMUNICATIONS AND PERSONALIZED ADVERTISING
Marketing Communications and Newsletters
We may use your contact information to send you promotional communications, newsletters, special offers, product updates, and other marketing materials that we believe may be of interest to you. These messages may be sent via email, SMS, or other electronic means, and may be personalized based on your interactions with us, purchase history, or other information we collect.
You can opt out of receiving promotional communications at any time by:
● Clicking the “unsubscribe” link in any email we send you;
● Following opt-out instructions in SMS messages (if applicable); or
● Contacting us at support@versatails.com.
Even if you opt out of marketing messages, we may still send you important transactional or administrative communications, such as order confirmations, shipping updates, or changes to our policies.
Data Collection and Personalized Advertising
If you wish for Versatails to stop collecting and using your personal information for marketing personalization or targeted advertising, you may email us at support@versatails.com. Please note that this request:
● Will not apply retroactively; and
● Will not affect necessary service-related data use (e.g., to fulfill orders or detect fraud).
If you are using a mobile device, your device may also provide settings to limit or reset your advertising ID:
● iOS: Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking, or disable Apple Advertising under Settings > Privacy > Apple Advertising.
● Android: Go to Settings > Google > Ads, and choose “Opt out of Ads Personalization” or reset your advertising ID (AAID).
Please note that opting out of advertising does not disable ads entirely—it limits the personalization of the ads you may see.
7. SPECIFIC PROVISIONS FOR USERS FROM CALIFORNIA, UNITED STATES UNDER CALIFORNIA DATA PROTECTION RIGHTS LAWS.
If you are a California resident, you may have specific rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA). If you wish to opt out of such sharing, you may email us at support@versatails.com with the subject line: “California Privacy Request.”
